Angelina College Commencement Exercises Taking Place May 11th
WGU’s Milliron Commencement Speaker
Angelina College’s Commencement Exercises will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11th in the Activity Center located on the AC campus.
More than 600 students will receive degrees and certifications in nearly 60 different fields of study.
Dr. Mark David Milliron, Chancellor of Western Governors University-Texas, will serve as the commencement speaker. Prior to assuming his current position, Milliron served as the Deputy Director for Postsecondary Improvement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, leading efforts to increase student success in the US postsecondary education sector. He is an award-winning leader, author, speaker, and consultant who has worked with universities, community colleges, K-12 schools, corporations, associations, and government agencies across the country and around the world.
WGU Texas is a competency-based, online university created to expand access to higher education for Texas residents. The university offers more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the high-demand career fields of Business, Education, Information Technology, and Healthcare Professions, including Nursing.
WGU Texas has partnered with Texas Association of Community College institutions to offer Finish to Go Further, a transfer agreement established to encourage students to finish their credential by earning their degree at a community college, and then go further by completing the bachelor’s degree with WGU Texas.
